Mogyi Ltd. is a 100% Hungarian-owned family run business.

Dealing with producing, roasting, packaging and sale of different types of oil seeds and nuts. The company was established with 5 employees in 1990 by two Hungarian brothers, who had the idea to launch the distribution of products that had not yet been introduced into the Hungarian market until then. The number of employees has been increasing continuously for years and it had exceeded 800 by now.

Mogyi Ltd. has 5 plants for production and warehousing in Hungary installed with the latest technologies. All of the units have their own laboratory, where the quality of the raw materials and the final products are continuously controlled. ”From field to the consumer’s table”

The company is one of the strongest European players in the seeds and popcorn category. Our core product groups are sunfl ower seeds ( in-shell and without shell as well), microwave popcorn, pumpkin seeds and peanuts. This is mainly down to our own farming system, which is controlled by Mogyi Ltd. from planting the seeds till selling the ready products in retail packaging. This is a very well controlled system, which follows the ” from field to the consumer’s table” project. All of the other raw materials used for our products are purchased from the highest quality, which is strictly and continuously controlled.

We’re very proud of our market share in Hungary (about 70%) where we are market leaders and on different products in other countries as well.

We have seen increasing demand on some of our products not only in Eastern European countries but also on Western European markets such as in Italy, Germany and the UK.

We are present in 27 countries

with our products from which in 6 we have our own subsidiary (Romania, Poland, Russia, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia).

We supply supermarket chains such as Tesco, Penny Market (REWE Group), Spar, CBA, Auchan, Metro, Kaufl and, Konzum, Carrefour, Biedronka, Delhaize, X5, Tander Magnit, etc.

  1. 1990

    The company was established in Hungary with 5 employees and the first product, roasted peanuts.

  2. 1995

    The introduction of the in-shell sunflower seeds product range.

  3. 1996

    The introduction of the in-shell pumpkin seeds product range.

  4. 1997

    The introduction of the cashews, almonds, pistachios, raisins and coconut products.

  5. 1999

    The introduction of the raw popcorn product range.

  6. 2000

    The introduction of the Micropop (microwave popcorn) and the hulled sunflower seeds product range. The number of employees exceeded 100 people. International expansion started in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania.

  7. 2001

    The company's turnover exceeded HUF 5 billion (15 million EUR). International expansion continued in Poland, the Netherlands, Estonia and Lithuania.

  8. 2003

    The company entered the Latvian and Croatian markets.

  9. 2004

    The introduction of Mogyi-Mix and the Mexicorn product range.

  10. 2005

    The introduction of the Student-Mix product.

  11. 2006

    The company's turnover exceeded HUF 10 billion (30 million EUR). The Rolli product range was introduced.

  12. 2007

    The company entered the Serbian and Greek markets.

  13. 2008

    The company entered the Kosovo markets.

  14. 2009

    The company's turnover exceeded HUF 20 billion (45 million EUR). The international expansion continued in Germany, Montenegro and Switzerland. The maces product range was introduced.

  15. 2010

    The introduction of the Crasssh! product range. The number of employees exceeded 500 people. International expansion continued in the UK.

  16. 2011

    The company's turnover exceeded HUF 20 billion (60 million EUR). Entered the Macedonian and Thai markets.

  17. 2012

    The company entered the Italian, Russian and Irish markets.

  18. 2013

    The company entered the Japanese market.

  19. 2015

    The company's turnover exceeded HUF 25 billion (75 million EUR), and entered the Danish market.

  20. 2016

    The international expansion continued in Bulgaria, Sweden and Slovenia. The hulled pumpkin seeds, the red-skin peanuts, the Crisp Bread, the Gastropop and the Caramoon product ranges were introduced.

  21. 2017

    The company entered the Austrian, South Korean and Maltese markets.

  22. 2020

    The company's sales revenue exceeded HUF 35 billion, and two new product ranges were introduced: hulled, toasted, flavoured sunflower seeds and HelloNuts!

  23. 2021

    Snackmix product range was implemented.

  24. 2022

    The company's sales revenue exceeded HUF 40 billion, beside that CRASSSH! STRONG and BIT product ranges were launched.

Decisive role in the private label sector

Today Mogyi plays an important role also in the field of Private Labels both in Hungary and in many European countries. Various private label products are produced for Lidl, Kaufland, Penny Market, Spar, Auchan, Tesco, Biedronka, Polomarket, Carrefour, Konzum, Netto, CBA, etc.
